Healthy Homes
Keep It Clean
  Include mudrooms and built-in storage.
  Chose trim that is easy to clean and avoid carpeting.
  Build in a central vacuum system with exterior exhaust.
 
Ventilate It
  Ventilation fans should have a sone rating of 1 or less (1.5 max).
  Properly duct exhaust fans: avoid flex duct, minimize duct length.
 
Design For Energy Efficiency and Comfort
  Build ductwork into the conditioned space.
  Select windows that have the lowest U-factor possible.
  Provide higher levels of insulation and framing details that avoid thermal bridging.
  Seal ducts tightly at all connections, seams and gaps w/ mastic.
  Install eave baffles to prevent wind washing and short-circuiting of insulation.
 
Eliminate Combustion Byproducts
  Install only sealed combustion appliances.
  Do not install fireplaces or wood stoves.
  Install at least one CO detector.
