Air-Source Heat Pumps are the most common and operate at least twice as effectively as conventional electric resistance heating
systems. Air-source pumps should have an outdoor thermostat to prevent operation of electric strip heaters when temperatures climb above 35 or 40 degrees.
Radiant-Floor Heating provides a high level of comfort while providing energy savings of 10-20% (derived from lower boiler temperatures).
A Programmable Thermostat is an inexpensive energy and cost saving measure. Multiple thermostats/zones may offer a cost-effective way to heat and cool larger homes.
