Chris Royer has been actively involved in the design and construction of buildings and landscapes for over 25 years.
He earned his Master of Architecture degree at the University of California at Berkeley, where he studied with Christopher Alexander, the author of A Pattern Language and
The Nature of Order. His area of concentration was ecological design, making him a "green architect" long before "green
design" and "sustainable design" were buzz words.

After a period of working on large scale institutional and commercial projects with Sasaki Associates, Inc. and Arrowstreet, Inc.,
he narrowed his focus to what he loves most, residential design.
For much of the 1990's, he was Senior Associate at Kenyon C. Bolton III & Associates, in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
As the firm's chief Project Architect and Manager, he was responsible for residential projects in Pebble Beach, California; Palm Beach,
Florida and the coast of Maine.
In 1998, Chris started Royer Architects with the mission of providing personalized house design services of the highest quality for clients throughout
New England. In recent years, he studied at the Landscape Institute of Arnold Arboretum in order to develop an integrated approach to architectural and
landscape design. His focus is the design of houses and their environments in the Boston, Cape Cod and the Berkshire regions.
